MOOSE, Wyo. — The Teton Park Road will open to vehicle traffic on Sunday, marking the start of the summer season in Grand Teton National Park.
It also means it’s the last few days to bike, scooter, rollerblade, jog and walk on the Park Road without vehicles.
The road is open until Oct. 31, closing to vehicle traffic Nov. 1.
This summer, the park service is planning to pave the gravel section of Moose Wilson Road. The road will be closed from the south entrance to the Laurence S. Rockefeller Preserve on weekdays from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend.
The road will be open to traffic on weekends from 7 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Monday, and federal holidays throughout the season. Cyclists are not permitted to use the road when it is closed to vehicles.
Other roads such as Antelope Flats, Deadmans Bar, Grassy Lake, Pilgrim Creek, Schwabacher, and Two Ocean are closed seasonally based on conditions.
Paved multi-use pathways throughout the park are open whenever predominately free of snow and ice. Use of the multi-use pathway is prohibited at night, specifically from 1/2 hour after sunset to 1/2 hour before sunrise.
