WYOMING — A 22-year-old man from Utah has been sentenced to 36 months’ imprisonment for interstate stalking that unfolded across Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks this summer, according to a Monday announcement by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of Wyoming.

Jose Bradley Isaacson, of Smithfield, Utah, was sentenced after stalking a woman who had recently ended a relationship with him, according to the Attorney’s Office. The woman was working in Yellowstone National Park when Isaacson “made numerous attempts to contact the victim and made threats against her,” per the announcement. On June 21, Isaacson drove to Old Faithful Village to confront her: he physically grabbed the victim, and when she refused to leave with him, he fled the scene.

The woman reported the incident to park rangers, who then found and impounded Isaacson’s car. The following day, Isaacson stole a rental car and fled toward Grand Teton National Park, the announcement states. Rangers used a tire deflation device to halt his vehicle. Isaacson then fled on foot before being captured a short time later by Grand Teton National Park rangers.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Kerry Jacobson prosecuted the case, and National Park Rangers investigated. Isaacson was arrested on June 22 and pleaded guilty on Sept. 2. U.S. District Court Judge Alan B. Johnson imposed the sentence on Nov. 21 in Cheyenne. In addition to the prison sentence, he was sentenced to three years of supervised release.
