JACKSON, Wyo. — A 36-year-old Jackson man has been sentenced to 30 months in prison (plus one year of supervised release) for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, according to a Monday announcement by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of Wyoming.
Law enforcement began investigating Giovanny J. Hernandez last March for distributing controlled substances in Teton and Sublette Counties, in connection with Samuel Pratts, who was sentenced earlier this year. Hernandez and Pratts were arrested in April 2025 on state drug charges after more than 300 grams of methamphetamine was discovered in Pratts’ vehicle and on his person, per the announcement.
“Evidence also showed the pair traveled to Colorado in a rental vehicle obtained through Hernandez’s airport job to purchase a pound of methamphetamine,” the statement reads.
The investigations were conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Teton County Sheriff’s Office and the Jackson Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Paige Hammer prosecuted the case. Hernandez was charged on August 19, 2025, and pleaded guilty in January. U.S. District Court Judge Scott W. Skavdahl handed down the sentence on May 6 in Casper.
