JACKSON, Wyo. — The annual ElkFest and antler shed auction took place on Town Square on Saturday.

Buckrail photographer Nick Sulzer dropped by to check out the goods and photograph the show-stopping natural treasures. The cool spring temps didn’t deter crowds from turning out for the sales and auctions.
According to ElkFest’s website, this was the 59th anniversary of the World-Famous Scouting Antler Auction. The organization acknowledged that fewer antlers were available overall, and the total weight was about one-third of last year’s haul.
“This reduced supply is largely due to natural conditions,” reads the website. “The 2025–26 winter in Jackson Hole was one of the mildest on record, causing many bull elk to hold onto their antlers longer and move off the [National Elk] Refuge earlier than usual.”
