JACKSON, Wyo. – Teton County’s Road and Levee Department announced Friday that road patching work on Spring Gulch Road is expected to cause traffic delays early next week.
Contractors will conduct asphalt patching operations on Spring Gulch Road on Monday, May 20, and Tuesday, May 21, from approximately 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day, according to the announcement. Flaggers and a pilot car will control the flow of traffic while work is being done.
“Motorists traveling on Spring Gulch Road should expect delays and are encouraged to avoid using Spring Gulch Road if possible,” Road and Levee said in the announcement. “The traveling public should also expect delays on Wyoming Highway 22.”
Spring Gulch has been hit particularly hard by this season’s extended freeze-thaw cycle, contributing to challenging road conditions. In March, Road and Levee Department Supervisor David Gustafson called the road damage on Spring Gulch “unprecedented.”
Monday is shaping up to be a busy day for road work in the area. In the early hours of Monday morning, the Wyoming Department of Transportation will pour concrete on the Snake River Bridge, which could cause delays for drivers between 5 and 6 a.m.
