JACKSON, Wyo. — With the weather still holding up nicely, construction crews are squeezing in as many fall projects as possible.
After current paving operations on Snow King Ave. are finished, more paving will take place on the east end of the thoroughfare, from South Cache Street to Vine Street. According to a Town of Jackson (TOJ) press release sent on Thursday, Sept. 25, milling and overlay will take place from Monday to Friday, Sept. 29 to Oct. 3, with painting and striping occurring the following week.
During the construction, the town is directing nonlocal vehicles to find alternate routes, such as East Kelly Ave. or East Broadway. Local vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians will be permitted to access the road, but TOJ urges residents and businesses to minimize travel on the corridor for the week.
“If you must drive on this section of Snow King, travel slowly, and follow directions from construction teams,” the statement says. “There may be periods when access is completely closed or severely limited.”
After paving on Snow King is complete, TOJ plans to patch and pave three alleyways in town if the weather allows. The following alleys will be worked on: west of Redmond Street, north of Kelly Ave.; west of Glenwood Street, north of Deloney Ave; and west of Redmond Street, south of Hansen Ave.
While TOJ strives to work with START and Teton County School District, bus service interruptions or adjustments are possible. For information regarding shifts to bus routes, contact the respective agency.
“Thank you to area residents and community members, in advance, for your patience and understanding as the Town works to maintain our community’s infrastructure,” reads the statement.
