The annual event promotes biking as a “healthy and safe alternative to driving,” Friends of Pathways Communications and Advocacy Director Samuel Petri told Buckrail.

Bikers took to the pathways all across the valley on e-bikes, road bikes and cruisers. Friends of Pathways set up stations at several locations offering free breakfast treats and coffee to those pedaling to work on Wednesday.

Bike to Work Day is part of a national campaign encouraging the benefits of biking.

Biking as a way to commute to work not only reduces CO2 emissions and relieves traffic congestion but it increases happiness in commuters, according to the League of American Bicyclists.

So bike on, Jackson Hole!
