JACKSON, Wyo. — Each year, Snake River Fund hosts a series of special events designed to connect the community to river recreation access and promote the respect for, and stewardship of, the Snake River Headwaters.

The flagship events bring together passionate community members, experts, stakeholders, and the general public to discuss the health and future of the river all while celebrating river culture, recreation, and conservation achievements! Check out the list below of some of the exciting spring events the Snake River Fund is hosting:

Women’s Swiftwater Rescue Course Scholarship

The Snake River Fund, alongside Women in the Tetons and Teton County Search and Rescue Foundation provides scholarships for 12 recipients to participate in a women specific Swiftwater Rescue course. Facilitated by Black Fox Rescue and taught by a highly qualified female instructor, Lynsey Nunes, this course teaches practical river rescue and safety skills. This course focuses on teaching river recreationists self-rescue, throw bag rescue, and simple rope rescue techniques and skills.

Women’s Inflatable Self-Rescue Pool Session

On April 13, Snake River Fund will host a hands-on, pool-based, workshop specifically for women! This two hour clinic is designed to enhance river safety and guiding skills in a controlled environment. Scheduled from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., we’ll begin with a comprehensive safety briefing and risk mitigation education. Participants will then engage in practical exercises focusing on raft flips, self-rescue techniques, and paddle strokes. With a maximum group size of 12, participants will receive personalized instruction from experienced professionals. This initiative aims to build confidence and preparedness for high-water conditions and foster community engagement among river enthusiasts. Space is limited to 12 participants. Spring Sweep

Help keep the Snake River clean! Each spring, the Snake River Fund leads a hands-on river cleanup that removes windblown trash, debris, and forgotten items from the Snake River corridor after the long winter. Volunteers hit the water in rafts, driftboats, and kayaks, scouring the banks and gravel bars to give the river a fresh start for the season ahead. Boats Launch at 11 a.m. on April 25, from South Park Boat Ramp. Volunteers must bring their own boat.

3rd Annual Teton Guide Symposium

The Teton Guide Symposium is a free, full-day gathering designed to educate, support, and celebrate Jackson Hole’s guiding community. Lunch is provided, and attendees will enjoy a mix of expert-led presentations, dedicated networking time, and opportunities to connect with organization booths representing key partners and agencies. The event will take place on May 8, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Teton Science School Jackson campus.

This event is a true collaboration between Snake River Fund, Redside Foundation, Teton Science Schools, Wyldlife For Tomorrow, and Jackson Hole Eco Tour Adventuresall united in supporting the professionals who lead others through our iconic landscapes.
