JACKSON HOLE, WYO \u2013 The loaner PFD program put in place on the Snake River for floaters, boaters, and rafters has been wildly successful in the pick-up phase, less so in the drop-off part of the arrangement.\n Fully stocked Loaner Station prior to Fourth of July weekend. (Snake River Fund)Snake River Fund and Teton County Parks & Recreation launched the new campaign on the Fourth of July weekend by placing 54 loaner PFD's at South Park landing. These flotation devices were available for use free of charge with the understanding they would be turned in at the next takeout section of the river.\n\nHowever, as of Pioneer Day (a Utah State holiday celebrated on July 24) only 6 adult PFDs remain in circulation. Probably it was an oversight. If you have a loaner PFD in your car, boat, garage, please return it to the river access site you borrowed it from as soon as possible. Someone\u2019s life may depend upon it.\n\nAdditionally, Snake River Fund is collecting good condition Type III PFD's to be used in this program. If you have a PFD that is going unused and would like to donate it to this program please call Jared Baecker, (307) 734-6773.
