Snake River Canyon open, Hoback closed

JACKSON, Wyo. — UPDATE 2:23 p.m.: Hoback Canyon is open in both directions.

Time for a good ol’ Wyoming highway shuffle.

WYDOT has cleared and reopened Snake River Canyon after avalanches closed it for nearly 15 hours. Now, crews are taking their gear to Hoback Canyon to start blasting there.

As of 12:04 p.m., Hoback Canyon (Highway 191) between Hoback and Bondurant will be closed for an undetermined amount of time this afternoon for avalanche mitigation.

Teton Pass opened at around 8:30 this morning, but avalanche conditions are high and no parking is allowed.
