Ski Swap moves to Snow King

JACKSON, Wyo. — Don’t go to the Teton County Fairgrounds looking for gently-used-but-new-to-you ski gear this weekend. You won’t find it there.

Instead, head over to Snow King Sports and Events Center for the annual Ski & Gear Swap. That’s where you’ll hit the jackpot.

The Ski Swap, hosted by the Jackson Hole Ski & Snowboard Club, is among locals’ favorite days of the year. It’s a chance to buy and sell used and new gear and directly support the Ski & Snowboard Club, which enrolls over 500 kids annually and passes a passion for skiing down through generations.

This year’s ski swap opens to early birds at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19. Pica’s will be slinging burritos as early as 6:30 a.m. for those who want to get there early enough for the Early Bird opening. Early Bird admission is $10, or $5 with a Ski Club Membership Card. General admission opens at 8:15 a.m. and is just $1, or free for Ski Club members. Kids 12 and younger attending with their parents get in free.

Vendors and the public can drop their gear off on Friday from 12–7 p.m. There is a $1 fee handling fee per item and JHSC retains 30% of the sales price. All funds go toward Ski & Snowboard Club programming and the club’s 500 student-athletes.

JHSC staff and volunteers will be on the floor with retail gear professionals from Teton Village Sports, Hoback Sports, and JH Sports to help with pricing, boot fitting and any questions.
