WYOMING — Wyoming Senator John Barrasso is in Texas for 48 hours, visiting a section of the Texas/Mexico border along with 17 other Republican Senators.

On Tuesday, March 23, Barrasso spoke on the Senate floor blaming Biden, his administration, and “the open border Democrats” for the influx of migrants at the U.S/Mexico border.“President Biden has already shown himself to be the most open-borders president in American history. It’s no surprise that the whole world has noticed.” He said.

During the speech, Barrasso said, “If this year is like previous years, thousands and thousands of children are going to be harmed because they made the journey north. There is nothing compassionate about the open border policy of this administration.”

“This crisis will not fix itself. We have to take action. Republicans have a series of common-sense solutions to improve the situation immediately. They include: enforcing the law, securing the border, and restoring the policy called ‘Remain in Mexico.’ Without these, the Biden Border crisis will continue to undermine our nation’s safety and security,” he said.

On Thursday evening Barrasso along with 17 other republicans visited an area near the Texas/Mexico border. Texas Sen. Ted Cruz was among the Senators present. Following the visit, Barrasso tweeted,
