JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Teton County School District is creating a collaborative committee to assist the district in identifying solutions to address capacity issues at the middle school.
For the last several years, TCSD has been working to address the capacity issues at both our elementary and secondary schools. The opening of Munger Mountain Elementary School eased capacity issues some but challenges remain.
“We have implemented all non-construction options, now we are looking at expanding/building new facilities,” said district Information Coordinator Charlotte Reynolds.
The first step in the process to construct new schools, as required by the state, is to conduct a Most Cost Effective Remedy (MCER) study. A recent meeting last week with state funding consultants helped determine the project timeline and next steps.
The district’s first step is to create a collaborative community committee that will help identify and evaluate various solutions to capacity issues. The committee will then prepare a recommendation to the Board of Trustees. The school board will, in turn, will provide a preferred alternative to the School Facilities Commission in March 2019.
TCSD is inviting all parents or guardians to join the committee. Act fast, applications are due November 15.
