Maggie Rose all snuggled up and safe at home

JACKSON, WY— Miss Maggie Rose, the Schnauzer Buckrail reported missing on October 3, is home safe and sound after more than two weeks wandering the streets of Jackson.

Maggie went missing on September 26, but frequent sightings let her mom, Debbie Shaw, know she was still alive, just on the move. The catch was that Maggie is super skittish, so chasing her down wasn’t an option. Maggie had to be herded into an enclosed space.

And that’s exactly what Dr. Josie Wittner and Trissta Lyman Morgan were able to do last Thursday night. According to Shaw, Wittner was walking home “when a dog ran across in front of her” and into a friend’s backyard. Wittner thought fast and yelled at her friend to close the gate.

“That fast. It happened that fast. My tiny little dog was safe,” Shaw wrote to Buckrail.

A message from Debbie Shaw and Maggie Rose:

“Many thanks to ALL who searched for Maggie: PAWS, Teton County Animal Shelter, Law Enforcement, Buckrail, neighborhood groups, friends and colleagues, and countless individuals who had seen Maggie’s wanted poster. Thanks and much love to Dr. Josie Wittner, Trissta Lyman Morgan and Jesse Morgan.

xo,

Maggie and D
