JACKSON, Wyo. — Teton County Search and Rescue, Exum and Jackson Hole Mountain Guides will team up on Wednesday, Jan. 10, to host a beacon search practice event at the base of Snow King.
The free “Beacons and Brews” event is intended to be a fun and informal evening of beacon search practice, helping backcountry users brush up on their skills as more snow falls.
Beacon search representatives will be on hand to answer questions in a low-pressure situation. Free hot cocoa and beer will be provided. Participants should bring a beacon, shovel and probe.
The event will run from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday evening. Participants of all ages and experience levels are invited.
