JACKSON. Wyo. — Jay Nel-McIntosh is joining photographers around the world in offering porch portraits as a way to boost spirits.
“I would like to capture a photo for you. Dress in your PJs, come as you are, or use it as an excuse to have a shower, wash your hair and take those yoga pants off,” Nel-McIntosh said.
In an effort to give back to the community, she is working to capture photos of people from their porches free of charge. There is an option to donate, with all proceeds going to the nonprofit One22, to help the community financially during the pandemic. She has so far raised $425 for the nonprofit and expects to receive more donations.
Nel-McIntosh has scheduled around 40 people so far, with 13 shoots scheduled today.
“I will schedule a time to drive by your house and take a photo with a telephoto lens from my car or the street (much further than 6 feet away) of you on your porch, balcony or front yard,” Nel-McIntosh said. “I will email you the photos as a way to commemorate, and hopefully, put a smile on your face in this unique and challenging time.”
