JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Here are some recent calls for service in Teton County/Jackson from the dispatch log. Names may be withheld at the request of law enforcement. All persons cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. Charges are subject to change following official filing from the Teton County Attorney’s Office.
April 14 (1:22am) – Minor under influence
An officer observed five subjects running across a street and it appeared as though four of the subjects were chasing the fifth. Additionally, it was 31 degrees and lightly snowing, and the subjects were barefoot, wearing only shorts and one had no shirt on.
Officers contacted the subjects and found them to be intoxicated. Officers determined three of the subjects were of legal age to drink, while two were underage. Those 21 or older were released and returned to their nearby hotel room.
The two underage subjects showed signs of intoxication and a PBT indicated both were under the influence. As a result, Jacob James Krause, 20, of Hartland, WI was charged with being a minor under the influence and violating the open container law. Evan William Nilson, 19, of Bozeman, MT was charged with being a minor under the influence. Incident to the arrest, Nilson was found to be in possession of a small amount of cocaine and was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance.
April 14 (2:01am) – Illegal Camping
Officers found several subjects sleeping in vehicles in the parking garage. The subjects were advised they could not sleep there and released with a warning.
April 14 (4:18 pm) – Hit-and-Run collision
A vehicle was struck by another vehicle while parked and unattended. The suspect vehicle may be blue. There are no leads.
April 15 (5:36 am) – Illegal Camping
Officers found a subject sleeping in a vehicle in a public parking lot. The subject was advised he could not sleep there and released with a warning.
April 15 (1:05 pm) – Shoplifting
An officer responded to Albertson’s in reference to a subject that had shoplifted from the store. The subject had been stopped by store management after leaving without paying. As a result, Jamie Frances Krupinski, 28, of Jackson was charged with shoplifting.
April 15 (2:17 am) – Illegal Camping
Officers found two subjects sleeping in a vehicle in the parking garage. The subjects were advised they could not sleep there and released with a warning.
April 16 (3:42 pm) – DUI
Dispatch received a REDDI report of a vehicle approaching town from the south that had run off the side of the road at least six times since Hoback. An officer located the vehicle and observed the driver drive into oncoming traffic nearly causing a collision. The officer stopped the vehicle and found the driver showed objective signs of intoxication. The subject failed field sobriety tests and as a result, Jhoel Hernandez Baez, 25, of Jackson was charged with DUI.
