JACKSON, Wyo. — Pinedale’s Soundcheck Summer Music Series rolls on this Saturday, July 23 with a three-band bill featuring up-and-coming bluegrass band The Wildmans from Floyd, Virginia.

Local Pinedale duo Conifer Hollow and singer/songwriter Jason Tyler Burton will each play opening sets.

All Soundcheck shows are presented by the Pinedale Fine Arts Council (PFAC) and take place at American Legion Park in downtown Pinedale. Shows are free to the public and are kid/pet friendly. Saturday’s show will kick off at 5 p.m.

The Wildmans come from the hills of Floyd, Virginia, in the heart of the Appalachian mountain music tradition. From campsite jamming at festivals and fiddler’s conventions and a college-level music education comes the foundation for musical exploration that sets this group apart, taking the audience on a musical journey that reflects the growth and passion of these talented musicians.

“The absolute cutting edge of American roots music these days — some of the most exciting art to be born out of this latest renaissance in Americana, bluegrass, and folk — is old-time. Artists like Rhiannon Giddens, Allison de Groot & Tatiana Hargreaves, Victor Furtado, Amythyst Kiah, Jontavious Willis, Dom Flemons, and so many more are utilizing this moment to demonstrate that old-time music is expansive.”

Justin Hiltner, The Bluegrass Situation.

Comprised of Eli Wildman, Aila Wildman and Victor Furtado, each member is an award-winning musician in their own rights.
