TETON VILLAGE, Wyo. — Enjoy pianist Anna Geniushene performing Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Grand Teton Music Festival Orchestra this Friday, August 9 and Saturday, August 10.
Houston Symphony Music Director Juraj Valcuha makes his GTMF debut on a program that features the return of Van Cliburn silver medalist Anna Geniushene. They will collaborate on Rachmaninoff’s 2nd Piano Concerto, a work so melodically rich that Frank Sinatra stole from it. Bartók’s provocative Miraculous Mandarin Suite and a US premiere by Melody Eötvös round out the concert.
A free pre-concert talk with Dr. Michael Griffith, University of Wyoming, Director of Orchestral Activities, will be presented one hour before the concert start time in the Barbara Furrer Goodman Memorial Garden near Walk Festival Hall’s north entrance.
The August 9 show begins at 7 p.m. and the August 10 show begins at 6 p.m.
Adult tickets are $40/$85. Children/student tickets are $5.
