JACKSON, Wyo. — A wildfire has been reported on Teton Pass near Phillips Bench.

Teton Interagency Fire crews responding to the 1/2-acre Phillips Fire on the Jackson Ranger District of the Bridger-Teton National Forest (BTNF) include BTNF North Zone fire staff, Teton County and Caribou-Targhee Helitack crews.

According to an update by BTNF via Facebook at 6:38 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, the crews were beginning to cut fire lines around the burn. Approximately 35 personnel are on scene, and more resources were being ordered.

BTNF asks the public to avoid the Phillips Bench trail area in order to allow crews to have quick access to the fire. Other emergency vehicles will be present on Teton Pass, and drivers are asked to be aware and drive slowly. Any visible smoke in the area should not be reported.
