JACKSON, Wyo. — Teton County/Jackson Parks and Recreation (Parks & Rec) staff have reopened the Owen Bircher Ice Rink today, Dec. 20, following yesterday’s closure due to warm temperatures.
According to a press release, since early this morning staff have been getting additional layers of water down with single digit temperatures. The rink is back open today with lights on for this evening.
“Our hope is to keep the rink up and running with marginal temperatures forecast over the next week,” Parks & Rec writes. “We will continue to evaluate daily, and it may be necessary to close again on short notice.”
Parks & Rec recommends checking X/Twitter to get up to date information; staff will post information by 9 a.m. each day if there are changes in status.
