JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Due to the recent snow and forecast for snow through the end of the week Jackson/Teton County Parks and Recreation is suspending ice rink maintenance today and Powderhorn rink will be closed for the remainder of the season.
Parks and Rec will evaluate the Fairgrounds and Owen Bircher daily this week and will attempt to clear the Fairgrounds when resources allow. Should Parks and Rec be able to clear it this week, the Fairgrounds rink will be closed for the season Monday, March 4 as it has to be broken down prior to Hill Climb starting the week of March 18.
It takes a couple of weeks to “melt out” the boards, tear it down, and clean up the area. Owen Bircher rink will be cleared after the current storm cycle. It will close for the season by March 15 regardless of weather.
