JACKSON, Wyo. — School might have just let out for summer, but One22 Resource Center is launching its back-to-school supply drive to ensure that local students return to school prepared and confident.
In a news release from One22, the nonprofit said it is hoping to fulfill more than 250 requests for assistance through its annual school supply drive. One22 has created a registry through Target that features items pulled directly from Teton County School District’s classroom supply lists. Those who wish to shop online can purchase supplies through the registry until Aug. 12 and have the items shipped directly to One22.
Anyone who prefers to shop in person can do so by following the list on One22’s website, and dropping donations off at collection bins. There will be an in-person shopping event at Target on July 15, where shoppers can receive a 5% discount. New, unused school supply donations can be dropped off at bins located at the Presbyterian Church of Jackson Hole, Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church, St. John’s Episcopal Church and One22 Resource Center.
“When kids walk into school with the supplies they need, they walk in ready to learn and belong,” One22 Director of Community Engagement Seadar Rose Davis said in a statement. “Our goal is simple: Every student deserves an equal opportunity to thrive. Thanks to the generosity of this community, hundreds of students begin each school year with the right supplies that prepare them for success.”
There is also another way the community can support local students through Target. One22 was selected as a Target Circle Giving Campaign nonprofit partner from July 1 to Sept. 30. Target shoppers can direct the store’s community giving funds to One22 through their Target Circle account, which helps support programs and services in the community.
