JACKSON, Wyo. — After handing out 158 stipends since Oct. 10, One22 Resource Center is opening a second round of financial assistance for federal workers whose paychecks have been affected by the federal government shutdown.

One22 announced on Wednesday that it is continuing its response to the shutdown for full-time federal employees who live or work in Teton County. The first round of the Relief for Federal Workers program included one-time payments in the form of $250 gift cards to help cover essential costs like gas and groceries. Those who received a stipend in the first round are invited to apply again, and federal workers can also apply for one-time emergency financial assistance for other needs like rent and child care.

“This community is built on the dedication of people who serve — in our national parks or forests, at our airports or behind the scenes,” One22 Executive Director Sharel Lund said via press release. “We want federal workers to know their community is still here for them, and that we are committed to helping them weather this uncertainty.”

According to One22’s news release, online applications for this support will remain open through Friday, Nov. 14, or until the shutdown ends, whichever comes first. The One22 website states that each individual in a household can apply for a stipend, provided they are a full-time federal employee. The one-time emergency assistance is designed for one household to apply one time.

One22 asks the community to share this information with anyone affected. Other One22 programs could also be available, and applicants are encouraged to call (307) 739-4500 for more information. Find other local resources here.
