No snow, no ski: Targhee delays opening

ALTA, Wyo. — This week didn’t quite deliver the winter weather Grand Targhee was hoping for. The tentative November 22 opening has been postponed for at least a day, Targhee announced on its website.

“Unfortunately, the colder temperatures and forecasted snow did not materialize last night,” Targhee wrote on its website this morning. “We are not going to open on Friday, November 22, but we will reevaluate tomorrow for a Saturday opening.”

Uphill traffic has been closed since Monday in preparation for opening. The Trap Bar is still open for Sunday football, and the Activity Center is open daily for those who want to get their pass early.

There’s a slight chance of snow in the forecast today and a higher chance on Sunday.
