JACKSON, Wyo. — A new feature-length documentary exploring the role of art in conservation will be screened at the National Museum of Wildlife Art Thursday, Oct. 26.

The film, “There Is A Place On Earth,” follows filmmaker Ellen van den Honert as she explores the way in which artists can create a new language for conservation in the face of climate change. She meets with artists around the world who share their work and discuss their commitment to the environment.

Following the film there will be a question-and-answer panel with van den Honert, Vance Martin, president emeritus with the Wilderness Foundation Global, Scott Brennan, senior director of Conservation Programs, Yellowstone to Yukon and Caleigh Leighton, donor relations officer, Yellowstone to Yukon. They will share insights into the making of the film, their hope for its impact and answer questions.

The event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the film starts at 5:30 p.m.

Van den Honert is a Dutch filmmaker, musician and songwriter. In 2015, Ellen established the Wild About Music Foundation dedicated to promoting the synergy of art and conservation, which led to the production of this documentary.
