VICTOR, Idaho — On Thursday, Sept. 4, Teton County Idaho Search and Rescue (TCISAR) received a call that an individual crashed while mountain biking on the Mikesell Trail south of Victor.

At 7 p.m. on Thursday, the TCISAR team responded to the call. When the emergency responders reached the 55-year-old injured man, they assessed that he sustained a fractured leg from the crash. The team members packaged him for safe transport, and using a wheeled litter, transported him roughly 3 miles over rugged terrain to the Mike Harris parking lot.

The man was then transported to a local medical facility at approximately 11 p.m.

“Our best wishes go out to him for a speedy recovery,” TCISAR said via Facebook.

Teton County Search and Rescue in Jackson has responded to several mountain bike injuries on Teton Pass this past summer, including one on Phillips Canyon trail, one in Black Canyon and two separate incidents on Parallel Trail within days of each other.
