JACKSON, Wyo. — On Monday, June 5, 14 firefighters from Jackson Hole (JH) Fire/EMS and a Grand Teton National Park engine responded to a fire on the hillside above Cutty’s Bar and Grill.
According to a June 9 post from the JH Fire/EMS Foundation, the burn was approximately a quarter acre and was extinguished within 20 minutes using 400 gallons of water. Battalion Chief Brian Coe confirmed they are still investigating the cause of how the dead overgrowth caught fire on private property.
Despite the persistent cycle of daily afternoon showers/thunderstorms, fires are still possible and precautions should always be taken when recreating and when at home.
