JACKSON, Wyo. — Teton County is asking residents to take proactive steps to protect houses from wildfires in the upcoming summer season.
Recommended steps include:
- Trimming branches against the house, porch and deck
- Pruning branches of large trees up to six to 10 feet from the ground
- Removing plants containing resins, oils and waxes
- Using gravel instead of flammable mulches
The public is invited to help revise the Community Wildfire Protection Plan and recreationalists are encouraged to follow guidelines to prevent wildfires and maintain safe campfires.
