JACKSON, Wyo. — The life of local businessman Kelly Krause will be celebrated by the Jackson community with a scholarship endowment and a memorial service, according to those close to the deceased.

Krause died in a skiing accident on Friday, March 1. He was 66. Krause and his family own the Virginian Restaurant.

A memorial service in his honor will be held at the First Baptist Church at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 9.

Krause’s friends and family are raising funds to establish an endowment for an annual scholarship to the culinary arts program at Central Wyoming College. The money will facilitate the education of “students at Jackson Hole High School who embody what Kelly held most dear: bringing joy through friendship and food,” the GoFundMe page states. Tens of thousands of dollars have already been donated.
