JACKSON HOLE, WYO – The race for county commissioner added another today with the declaration from Seadar Rose Davis that she will run for a seat on the Board of County Commissioners.

Davis is probably best known in the valley for the Americana band she co-founded in 2007 with her husband Aaron Davis: Screen Door Porch. Davis also owns her own boutique web design company, S.Rose Design.

As the daughter of a single mom, Davis says virtues passed down to her from her family enabled her to put herself through college, becoming the first in her family to earn a degree.

“Be curious, be kind, be resilient,” Davis says she tries to adhere to these simple precepts every day. “My family instilled in me from a young age that an integral part of living life to its fullest is giving back to your community. It was this drive that helped me navigate the incessant hurdles and challenges of a career as a touring musician. I have discovered that with these virtues, I have learned to thrive in the face of challenge. I look forward to serving Teton County by bringing this drive and passion to the Board of County Commissioners.”

Davis said she would like to offer a fresh perspective to the BCC. A current member of the START Board, she has also volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, Jackson Hole Therapeutic Riding and Vertical Harvest.

“The beauty of this place caught me at the beginning, but it has always been the people and the spirit of this place that make it my home. I would be honored to serve our community as a county commissioner,” she added.

Davis disclosed she will run as a Democrat in the partisan race. Three of the five seats on the BCC come open this year.
