JACKSON, Wyo. — On Monday, Jan. 6, Town and County officials will take the oath of office prior to beginning their new terms, and the public is welcome to attend.
County Commissioners Natalia D. Macker and Len Carlman will be sworn-in on Monday at 8:30 a.m. at the District Courtroom in the Teton County Courthouse on 180 S King Street.
Arne Jorgensen will be sworn in as Mayor, and Kevin Reagan and Devon Viehman will be sworn in as Councilmembers. These ceremonies will take place in Town Council’s Chambers at Town Hall on Monday at 10 a.m.
After the induction ceremonies, Town Council will join the County Commission in Council’s Chambers for a Joint Meeting at 1:30 p.m., which Mayor Jorgensen will call to order.
At 6 p.m., Mayor Jorgensen will call Town Council’s regular meeting to order at 6 p.m. At the start of the meeting, Jorgensen will read Resolutions of Appreciation for out-going Mayor Hailey Morton Levinson, and out-going Councilors Jessica Sell Chambers and Jim Rooks. Following that, the Mayor will appoint a Mayor Pro Tempore and an Acting Mayor Pro Tempore.
In anticipation of filling Jorgensen’s Councilor seat, the Council is expected to declare the vacancy during its meeting, and proceed with considering an application, selection and appointment process.
