JACKSON, Wyo. — It’s official, write-in candidates Michael Kudar and Jessica Sell Chambers, running for mayor and town council, respectively, will be moving on to the general election and have their names on the ballot in November. A hand count of write-in primary ballots was completed by the county clerk’s office. County clerk Maureen Murphy confirmed with Buckrail that Kudar received 632 write-in votes (out of the 711 write-ins cast), good enough to get him on the November 3 ballot in the non-partisan race for mayor. Kudar will face off against Hailey Morton Levinson, who received 1,556 votes in the primary election last Tuesday. The write-in votes for town council included an added twist. In addition to meeting a minimum amount of votes, only the top vote-getter could move on to the general election. That will be Sell Chambers based on the 193 votes she received. Jennifer Ford was also running as a write-in. Sell Chambers will join Jim Rooks, Pete Muldoon, and Devon Viehman in running for two available seats on the council. A canvas board meets today at 1 p.m. to declare the primary election results official.
