JACKSON, Wyo. — Newly elected Town and County officials took the oath of office during their swearing-in ceremonies on Monday, Jan. 6.

County Commissioner Len Carlman and re-elected County Commissioner Natalia D. Macker were sworn in by District Court Judge Melissa M. Owens on Monday morning.

Macker reflected on taking the oath of office for the fourth time during her career as a public servant, and the weight it carries after the storming of the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

“A democracy that I no longer take for granted, the oath opens with my commitment to support, obey and defend the Constitution of the U.S.,” Macker said via Facebook. “It’s easy to allow this to remain an ephemeral idea. Today it became very immediate, urgent and active.”
