JACKSON, Wyo. — Jimmy Chin and E. Chai Vasarhelyi’s latest documentary, The Rescue, is playing now through Dec. 9 at Movieworks.

The Rescue chronicles the 2018 rescue of 12 boys and their coach from a flooded cave in Northern Thailand. In 2019, Vasarhelyi and Chin won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature for Free Solo. The film follows rock climber Alex Honnold’s journey to being the first person to free solo El Capitan in Yosemite.
The Rescue will run through Dec. 9, possibly longer if there is sufficient demand, with daily showtimes at 5 p.m. and 7:50 p.m. and additional weekend matinee shows at 2:10 p.m.
The couple owns a home in Jackson Hole, splitting time between New York.
