JACKSON, Wyo. — Beginning on Sunday, June 1, the Teton County Library is challenging the community to read a collective two million minutes this summer.

“Color Our World” is the 2025 summer reading program theme, and it runs until August 10. Readers of all ages can participate by signing up, logging reading hours and completing activities to earn raffle tickets for prize drawings.

Participants can sign up through the library website or by downloading the Beanstack app, which is used for logging reading hours. Readers receive a virtual raffle ticket for every 60 minutes of reading or for each activity completed. Raffles will be held five times throughout the summer for kids, and once a week for adults.

New this year, children up to 4th grade can pick up a Summer Reading Activity Guide at the library when they sign up. The activity guide includes all program rules and dates, prize drawings, space to record reading, coloring pages, puzzles and more. The reading log does not replace the need to log minutes online.

“The idea is that kids can practice writing skills by recording their reading, and then parents can efficiently enter the minutes in the Beanstack app,” said Beth Holmes, the library’s youth program coordinator.

Though all are invited to participate, the library youth services team has planned a lineup of free activities for kids throughout the summer, listed below (all events are at the Jackson branch unless otherwise specified):

  • June 7-14: Book Fair Giveaway at all Teton County branches. Kids up to 8th grade can sign up for summer reading and choose a free book, all week during library hours.
  • June 14: Summer Reading Kickoff, Beautiful Art Party. Children’s author and illustrator Barney Saltzberg will lead families in art projects from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free ice cream from Cream + Sugar will be provided.
  • Thursdays from June 26 to August 7: Take-Home Crafts at all Teton County branches. Beginning at 12 p.m. for kindergarten through 4th grade.
