JACKSON, Wyo. — Four students from the Jackson Hole High School (JHHS) Class of 2022 have been awarded scholarships from the Chris Hodges Memorial “Livin’ the Dream” scholarship fund.

This year’s recipients include Lizzy Robinson, Audrey Fouras, Stella Vickland-Davis and Zach Wiley.

The Chris Hodges Memorial Fund honors the legacy of Jackson local athlete, coach, and mentor Chris Hodges, who passed away suddenly in 2016 at the age of 30.

Hodges attended Jackson Hole High School where he graduated in 2004. He played baseball, basketball and football all four years, and was awarded a scholarship to play baseball at Missouri Valley College in Marshall, Missouri.

After an injury sidelined him in his second year of college he set his sights on coaching. He was named head coach of the Bozeman Bucks, where he began his coaching journey with hopes of one day going to the big leagues.

Hodges held numerous coaching positions, culminating with a position at Iowa Western Community College. In his first season, he took the Reivers to the NJCAA College World Series in May 2016. Shortly after, his life was tragically cut short in a car accident on July 21, 2016.

The Chris Hodges Memorial Fund was created in 2017 by friends and family of Chris. The Fund provides financial support to individuals and organizations that are committed to helping, and allowing others to follow their dreams while living their own.

Chris’ motto was “Live Life Like a 3-1 Count,” the topic of the essay prompt for the scholarship.
