Jackson’s ‘Biggest Rockstar’ celebrates one year of spreading joy

JACKSON, Wyo. — One year ago today Jackson’s Biggest Rockstar, Tim McLaurin, began dancing on the Town Square with one purpose and one purpose only; to make people happy.

Anyone who has recently called Jackson home knows Tim. You might not know him by name, but when you drive by the Town Square it is common to see him with a huge smile on his face, boogying down like there’s no tomorrow, and holding a sign that says, “Honk if my dance moves make your day! God bless the USA!”

“Coming out to the Town Square all summer long and all winter long, I just wanted to do this because I just felt like you got to put a smile on people’s faces right now,” Tim said. “I just felt like, wow, I’m doing this and I’m making people’s days come alive!”

Tim started dancing in the square one year ago at a time when uncertainty filled the air at the foot of a global pandemic. Since then, he has been throwing out moves on the regular in hopes of putting a smile on the faces of passersby.

“I started to dance at the end of March [2020],” Tim said. Why? It’s simple. “I just wanted to make people’s day better.”

In celebration of his one year of spreading smiles, Tim made t-shirts to hand out that read, “Jackson’s Biggest Rockstar 1 year anniversary”. (Thanks for the shirt, Tim!)

Tim has made such a positive impact on the community that he has received support from all kinds of loving locals; including Pinky G’s, Jessica Gill, and even Nikki Sixx from Mötley Crüe, who gave him a shoutout on Instagram for his one year anniversary of dancing.

“I listen to country, and I listen to Nikki Sixx!” Tim said for his music choice when dancing. “Nikki Sixx has been a big part of my life. He’s always there and he always gives me the best videos. I gotta say, I can’t believe Nikki Sixx has found out about me.”

“You know what I love about you dude?” Nikki Sixx said on Instagram to Tim. “You go out there and you dance every day, it’s been a year, during the pandemic you did not give up, when it was snowing you did not give up, and all you ask for people to do is smile man. We need more people like you in the world. I’m really proud of you and I watch you every day and congratulations.

Tim mentioned that in April he has plans to meet Nikki Sixx. “We’re gonna get together and we’re probably gonna dance, and he might come out with his bass guitar and play,” Tim said.

“Happy anniversary to Jackson’s biggest rockstar from Jackson’s second-biggest rockstar!” Sixx said.

Keep on rocking, Tim!
