JACKSON, Wyo. – On Wednesday, Oct. 25 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole will hold its annual Old Bill’s Awards Party at The Center to announce the total amount of money raised through this year’s event, and Old Bill’s nonprofits will receive their grant checks.
During this year’s celebration, the Spirit of Old Bill’s Award will be presented to Molly and Wayne Hughes of the Hughes Charitable Foundation for their transformative gift of $6 million dollars. This donation will support housing and staff sustainability for nine Human Service Council organizations and three front-line agencies (Teton County Sheriff’s Department, Jackson Police Department, and Jackson Hole Fire/EMS). Through this gift, the Hughes Charitable Foundation is embodying the values of Old Bill’s by unlocking and securing the future for this essential workforce. The Spirit of Old Bill’s Award recognizes community members who demonstrate outstanding leadership, innovation, enthusiasm, integrity and compassion as they go above and beyond to help our community.
“The Spirit of Old Bill’s represents a collective desire to improve the lives of everyone in Jackson,” President of Community Foundation of Jackson Hole Laurie Andrews said. “The Hughes Charitable Foundation is making transformative investments in Teton County nonprofits focused on supporting the well-being of community members who are struggling, and we’re thrilled to acknowledge and celebrate the Hughes’ efforts.”
Since 2017, the Hughes Charitable Foundation has supported more than 300 Wyoming-based organizations that serve those who need it most.

About Old Bill’s Fun Run
One of the most innovative philanthropic initiatives in the nation, Old Bill’s Fun Run is also one of the most successful. Twenty-seven years ago, a generous couple, fondly known as Mr. and Mrs. Old Bill, envisioned a collaborative initiative to support local nonprofits. For the first time, organizations came together in an efficient, unified fundraiser that raised awareness of local nonprofits and community needs.
Since its inception, Old Bill’s has brought an astounding $228 million philanthropic dollars to our community. These funds are busy feeding the hungry, supporting the sick and elderly, teaching kids to read, protecting wildlife, building affordable housing, enriching our lives through the arts and touching the lives of everyone in Teton County. Old Bill’s is administered by the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole. For more information, visit oldbills.org.
