JACKSON, Wyo. — History Jackson Hole welcomes author Evan Griffith and guest panelists Carmie and Janet Cook, Sam Neiman, Nancy Shea, Jared Smith and more for Beers & Banter: The Murie Legacy in Jackson Hole on Thursday, August 29 at 7 p.m. on the Rooftop Deck at the Jackson Hole History Museum. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Beverages will be available for a donation. 

Guest panelists will talk about their experiences with the Muries including Nancy Shea, who served as the Executive Director of the Murie Center; Jared Smith, who grew up knowing the Muries and served on the Murie Center Board; current Murie Ranch workers and docents Sam Neiman, Carmie and Janet Cook; and more. 

Panelist Evan Griffith is the author of Wild at Heart: The Story of Olaus and Mardy Murie, Defenders of Nature illustrated by Anna Bron and just published this month. The book, for kids ages 6 to 9, tells the personal story of Olaus and Mardy, as well as their journey to create the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. 

Griffith will also give a Family Book Reading on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Classroom at the Jackson Hole History Museum. 

Beers and Banter will be moderated by Education Director Catherine Maguire and will follow an informal, conversational format. At the end, the audience can ask questions of the panelists.
