JACKSON, Wyo. —Every year, the K-12 students of Dancers’ Workshop (DW), 294 local youth, participate in the $1.7 million fundraising goal with their own program – the Keep Us Dancing! Raffle, celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.
The prizes are generously donated by local businesses, to entice the community to give, whether you’re a dancer or simply an advocate of the vibrant arts culture in Jackson. The grand prizes this year come from:
- Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (10-Day Pass for 20/21 season)
- VIM (3-month unlimited membership)
- Gros Ventre River Ranch (private fly-fishing excursion)
Along with additional prizes from Snake River Grill, Fine Dining Restaurant Group, Stio, New York City Sub Shop, Hole Bowl, Center for the Arts, Art Association, Teton Sports Club, Blue Collar Restaurant Group and more.
With four days remaining and at 23% of their total goal ($50,000), students are as excited as ever to continue to show their gratitude for this robust dance curriculum across two 15-week semesters, run by internationally renowned professional dancers. If they achieve their goal, DW will be able to successfully subsidize tuition for all students (no student is charged what it costs to offer the program) and provide additional financial aid for families.
Beyond specific physical, technical and artistic skills, studying dance offers students the opportunity to develop skills applicable to everyday life such as motivation, commitment, cooperation, creative problem-solving, discipline, respect, self-confidence, exploration, and joy.
