JACKSON HOLE, WYO — County Recycling Center staff has been noticing large volumes of motor oil and oil-based paints being dumped illegally at the facility. Not only is this illegal but it could cause harm to the staff.
Anyone wishing to discard motor oil, oil-based paints, or any other hazardous material needs to make a Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) appointment ahead of time.
Motor oil, brake fluid, antifreeze, herbicides and pesticides and more have all been making their way into the wastestream at the recycling bins at the community sites and on the Recycling Center property. This is not an acceptable to treat the environment and it could be extremely dangerous to staff.
