Grand Teton Brewing taps new Brewmaster Percussion Drum Kit Buckrail - Jackson Hole, news

JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Grand Teton Brewing announced today that Max Shafer, 26, has been appointed the brewery’s new Brewmaster. He takes the reins from Rob Mullin, who took a position with Three Notch’d Brewing Company in Charlottesville, Virginia after fifteen years as Grand Teton Brewing’s Brewmaster.

Shafer joined the GTB production team in August 2012. Shafer rapidly advanced to brewing and cellar operations. After returning from the Siebel Institute of Technology in early 2016, Shafer was appointed Cellar Master. His passion for learning and producing distinctive beers led him to their fledging Barrel-Aging Program. In a few short years, Shafer has grown Grand Teton Brewing’s Barrel-Aging Program from the initial 12 casks to 200 casks that are now routinely producing award winning barrel-aged beers.

“I am very excited to take over as Brewmaster at Grand Teton Brewing,” Shafer said in a prepared statement. “While my career is very young, it all started here and I think that is evident when you walk around the brewery—ranging from our pilot program all the way to our wood cellar. I wish Rob all the best in his new endeavor and cannot thank him enough for the years of mentorship and I look onward to what is to come later in our careers. I have big shoes to fill, literally and figuratively. Rob’s feet are way bigger than mine.”
