JACKSON, Wyo. — A new monthly program will offer locals the chance to practice mindfulness together.

Mindfulness Works is a free series presented by local nonprofit Becoming Jackson Whole.

Led by Becoming Jackson Whole Founder Sara Flitner, the program will recur on the second Tuesday of every month from 9 to 10:30 a.m, beginning Sept. 12 and continuing through August of 2024 at the Teton County Library’s Ordway Auditorium.

Attendees can expect to learn practical ways to integrate mindfulness practices into daily life through guided practices and group discussions.

“Our main objectives are to build community while providing opportunities to ask questions and discuss challenges to strengthening our practices for mental fitness,” Becoming Jackson Whole’s press release said.

Mindfulness is the practice of maintaining a nonjudgmental state of heightened or complete awareness of one’s thoughts, emotions or experiences on a moment-to-moment basis, according to Merriam-Webster.
