JACKSON, Wyo. — Protect Our Water Jackson Hole and Jackson Hole High School AP Environmental Science students will be hosting a free drinking water well testing event on May 24 and 25 in collaboration with the Teton County Health Department.

Anyone will be able to pick up a free test kit at the JH High School between 4 and 5:30 p.m.

Those who do pick up a test kit are encouraged to collect the water sample in the morning on Wednesday, May 31, and return the test kit to the JH High school that same day between 8:30 and 10 a.m. The test kits must be analyzed the same day the sample is taken.

The Environmental Protection Agency recommends private well owners test their water a minimum of once per year for E. coli bacteria and nitrates.
