STAR VALLEY, WYO – Firefighters have gained the upper hand on the Fire Trail Fire, achieving 60% containment on the 30-acres blaze early this morning.

Crews are braced for higher winds today, which could put firelines to the test but two Type helicopters, two 20-person hand crews, three Type 4 engines, two Type 6 engines, and a Teton Module of 12 people are all working to keep the fire at bay.

Closures remain in effect but if firefighters feel confident about progress for the next few days, the weekend weather looks cooler and wetter.
