JACKSON, Wyo. — Geotechnical drilling will go down on Teton Pass and is expected to cause delays on Aug. 1, The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) announced Wednesday.

WYDOT and contract crews from Salisbury Drilling will be performing investigative geotechnical drilling work near milepost 12.6. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in that area and will be controlled by flaggers.

For reference, the top of Teton Pass is milepost 11.2, so the work will be about 1.5 miles west, towards Idaho. The Idaho State Line is milepost 17.3

“If the work goes well, crews should complete the job in roughly three hours,” the press release states. “Traffic control will be needed to lift a crane over the guardrail for the work.”

According to WYDOT, crews will be installing equipment to monitor movement on the highway in the area.
