JACKSON, Wyo. — Wildfire-related evacuation orders in both Sublette and Lincoln counties have been downgraded as containment of the Dollar Lake Fire and Willow Creek Fire improves.

In areas of Sublette County surrounding the Dollar Lake Fire, everything south of the Bridger-Teton National Forest boundary (end of State Highway 352) to Black Butte Road has now been returned to the “ready” state, using the “ready, set, go” evacuation scale. Red Cliff Bible Camp and structures north of Union Pass Road (FS RD 660) remain in “go.” The fire is 15,243 acres in size and 31% contained as of Wednesday morning.

A community meeting about the Dollar Lake Fire is scheduled for Wednesday night in Cora. It will also be livestreamed. Keep up to date with Dollar Lake evacuation orders here.

In Lincoln County near the Willow Creek Fire, the evacuation zone from US89’s milepost 75 (near Gomm’s Pond Lane) to Salt River Pass has been lowered to “set” status. Residents west of US89 from Reeves-Schwab Lane South to Gomm’s Pond are also in “set” status. “Go” orders could be initiated by Lincoln County Homeland Security & Emergency Management; residents can use this link to sign up to receive notifications. The fire is 4,066 acres in size and 43% contained as of Wednesday morning.

“Though the evacuation level has changed, there is still a forest closure for portions of the Greys River District and Kemmerer District,” incident managers wrote in their Wednesday report. See the details of that closure on InciWeb. “Travelers on Highway 89 should be cautious of fire vehicles and equipment in the area and are asked to not pull over or park on the side of the road to view the fire area, which could pose safety hazards to emergency personnel,” the update reads.

Weather conditions will continue to be warm, dry and gusty, potentially contributing to active fire behavior on Wednesday, according to the updates. Cooler temperatures might arrive later in the week. Watch for a forecast on Wednesday evening by Buckrail Meteorologist Alan Smith.
