JACKSON, Wyo. — The Center for the Arts is thrilled to announce its Creative in Residence for 2020, Agnes Bourne, presenting Sustain, a series of exhibits and programs that celebrate art and sustainability.
Sustain includes three outdoor exhibits by Sam Dowd, Bland Hoke, and Ben Roth, which are currently available for viewing on The Center Campus. All three exhibits explore the idea of saving and reusing materials to promote the health of the planet.
This weekend, another highlight of Sustain includes the Anything’s Possible Group Show during the Fall Arts Festival Sunday Art Brunch Walk on Sunday, September 20. The exhibit opening in the Art Association Gallery and Glenwood Lobby will take place from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. and over 20 artists will be participating. The exhibit will bring together designers, painters, sculptures and furniture makers represented and/or working in Jackson.
Agnes brings deep passion and enthusiasm to her role as curator, exploring ideas that she holds close to her heart including sustainability and a sense of place in the role of art and design.
A designer by trade, Agnes embodies the idea that art and design can promote the health of the planet and that design is a means to create an inspired community. Her Creative in Residence brings a sense of optimism and gratitude and a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature, art, sustainability, and design.
As a life-long champion for the arts locally and nationally, Agnes celebrates The Center as the community’s arts commons, a place where everyone is welcome and invited to participate.
Stay tuned for a solo exhibit by artist Connor Liljestrom, a contemporary western oil painter engaging with issues within the contemporary western landscape, which debuts on October 9 in The Center Theater Gallery. Plus the launch of Agnes’ book, Moments also coming in October.
