JACKSON, Wyo. — Goodbye until next year, Teton County Fair!
This summer’s fair week culminated in the always popular, always rowdy Figure 8 Races.

Buckrail photographer Nick Sulzer was at the Rodeo Arena on Sunday, July 27, to capture all of the exhaust, mud and glory. Six heats with six drivers each took to the track to see who was fastest to make 12 laps around the figure 8-shaped track.
As part of the annual tradition, numerous crowd members hoisted dollar bills in the air, eager to place bets on their favored drivers.

This year’s races sold out in record time. Attendance was so robust that the fire marshal deemed one section of bleachers to be overly crowded, and asked the crowd to disperse.

Races lasted into the night, wrapping up past 11 p.m. A handful of vehicles needed assistance after tipping over.

Jorge Meneses came in first place, followed by Ruben Gallegos in second and Joey Parker in third.
